Windows XP setup on new hard drive

My computer crashed, bought a new hard drive think this was the problem again
(happened last year). Couldn't load XP, kept getting errors when installing
XP that certain files could not be read from the XP CD. Talked to a computer
repair, said it was most likely a hard drive controller issue and I needed a
new motherboard. Bought an in kind replacement, same issue again when trying
to load XP and I also get the blue screen of death with an error saying
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. Any ideas?

Thanks. It appears to be one of my dual 512MB RAM sticks. Spent $80 on a HD
and $119 on a new motherboard but I should have come here first. Never had a
memory stick go bad before.

Defective memory (including main memory, L2 RAM cache, video RAM) or incompatible
software (including remote control and antivirus software) might cause this Stop

flawed PCI card).
