Hi all, I have a friend that is dial up and would take
forever to download the service pack. Would anyone know
if there is a way to copy the one I downloaded to a disk
and they could install it that way? What kind of setting
would I need to make to my burner so that it would start
when they put the disk into their computer? Any help
here would be great. Thanks
Pat

okay, let's make this simple.

rename the sp2 file to winxpsp2.exe
create a text file using notepad.
type the following:

[autorun]
open=winxpsp2.exe

save the text file as autorun.inf
make sure that the file name is not autorun.inf.txt, but rather simply, just
autorun.inf

burn both files onto a cdrom (and you don't need to put them in folders.)

if autorun is enabled in a windows xp system, sp2 installation should start
after the disc has been inserted in a cdrom/dvdrom drive.

hope this helps.
