XP Service Pack 2

im an owner of an AMD Athlon XP 2600+ PC for more than 2 years now. i was
trying to download the Service Pack 2 (after being told by a tech support
person of the computer company) thru Microsoft's Update website it stalled
nearly at the end of downloading. after a reboot and unsintalling the SP2 i
noticed that my PC has became unusually slow. and i noticed that when i go to
the Microsoft update website my IE browser keeps on stalling for unknown
reason. i have checked if there's any virus or spyware of some sort but i
coudn't find any. what should i do?what's your advice? pleas help!

Why did you uninstalled it for? SP@ fixes some major performace and security
gaps
get the CD instead of the download
