According to my Add/Remove Programs, I have Windows XP SP 1. Doing a "Scan
for Updates" on the MS website, the only critical file it says I'm lacking
is Windows XP Service Pack 1 (Express). Not sure what to do in this case.
Would appreciate some advice.
Thanks,
Monica

Have a look at system properties in control panel. That will confirm if you
have SP1 installed, you will see "Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version
2002 Service Pack 1" if you have SP1.

Hummm, I guess I don't have it. My system properties say MS Windows XP Home
Edition Version 2002. Nothing about Service Pack 1. But why do I have
"Windows XP Service Pack 1" listed in Add/Remove Programs?

Monica,

Go to Start > Run and type winver
Does it say Service Pack 1?

Good luck

Nope, nada about SP1. Guess I'll go download it :) Thanks guys.
