XP Self Hibernation Probllem

Hi,

I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 that is exhibiting some strange behaviour when
resuming from hibernation.

Once boot up is complete but before I can do anything the OS reports that it
is going into hibernation and then does so.

You can then start the laptop up again and it then behaves normally as it
resumes from hibernation.

I'm struggling to understand how this is only happening when resuming from
hibernation the first time and not the second.

The OS is XP Home SP1 and has been patched up to September and I do intend
to upgrade to SP2 but I need a BIOS upgrade before I do that particular
little upgrade.

Go to control panel... power options and set all power settings to always on.
You should'nt have that problem any more. Use a sceen saver or have it go
blank .
