XP " Search"

I have problems searching the contents of HTML files I've developed. For some
reason XP Search refuses to find any html or Javascript commands.
For example, I wanted to find all my html files containing the Javascript
string resizeTo but Search with document name *.htm* yields nothing, although
I know have about 20 files containing it.
Also every HTML file contains the string <head> but no way can I get Search
to find any of them.

I've tried all the options in Search. Can anyone help please?

" For some reason XP Search refuses to find any html or Javascript commands."

The reason is that XP's search only searches for text, not HTML or Javascript.

I'd realised that seemed to be happening, but as HTML os Java statements are
just character strings, so why should Windows decide I can't search tem like
text?

P.S. After all, my files are not very complicated and I write them with a
plain text editor

You need to add the file extensions in the registry for the files you want
Windows XP to search in.

Using the "A word or phrase in the file" search criterion may not work
