XP Restore

When I try to use the system tool "System Restore", it gives an error "System
Restore Application has encountered a problem and needs to close." Then asks
me if I want to send an error report to Microsoft, which I have done. Any
ieas how to get this application working?

Run sysdm.cpl, and use the checkbox to disable system restore, restart and
turn it back on. You will lose all the old points.
