XP Restore Points

Hi All

I tried to do a restore yesterday to no avail, XP shows restore points and
System check points for the past 5 days, if I select one it will go through
the motions and perform the restore only to be told at the end it can not
restore to a previous restore point.

Any Ideas

Hi Paul,

Unfortunately, yes, I have one idea. Once System Restore stops working, all
you can really do is stop and restart it. The downside is that this loses
all existing restore points, so you will be unable to go back to the restore
point you are currently trying to access. The upside is that at least it
usually fixes the problem.

To do this, start/run services.msc, scroll to the SR service and
double-click it. "Stop" the service, set the startup type to disabled. Click
apply/ok and reboot. Reverse the steps to restart it.

Try accessing System Restore from the Safe-Mode start-up option - best of
luck.

I will Try the safe mode option failing that I will do as Rick suggested.
