xp restarts unexpectedly, this can happen at start up and

all the time
Source-system error, Category (102), Event1003

Open Control Panel - System - Advanced and click on the Settings
button in the Startup and Recovery (bottom) section.

In the Startup and Recovery window click on the checkbox for
"automatically restart" to clear it.

Click on Apply and OK as needed to exit.

That should put an end to the restarts. However they may be replaced
by "Blue Screen Of Death" STOP errors and the computer may then lock
up, requiring a manual power off and restart. But the contents of
the STOP error message will be a direct clue as to the underlying
cause of the problem. Post the information from the STOP messages,
including all of the parameters, back here if you need further
assistance with these.

That doesn't say very much about where it arises. You have *something*
- likely a driver - that is crashing on being asked to close - and the
system's 'automatically restart' is cutting in. Turn this off: in
Control Panel - System - Advanced, click Settings in the Startup and
Recovery section. There uncheck 'automatically restart'. You may now
get a Blue screen failure instead, but that should say more. In
particular if it *is* a driver, the bottom line should show the driver
file - somethng.sys. Look for that in Windows\system32\drivers, r-click
and Properties - Version should tell you what it is connected with
