System Restarts

Computer restarts randomly. Usually once a day, and when I’m not looking
(unattended) I’m running Windows XP Pro, SP2. Started doing this a few weeks
ago, so my first step was to do a clean install. Still doing the same thing.
Looking in the System Event viewer I’m getting the red X with the following
description. Anybody have any ideals?

Type: Error
Source: System Error
Category: (102)
Event: 1003

Hi,

Whenever your system incurs an error, it is set to automatically restart.
To prevent the restart, navigate to the Control Panel/Performance and
Maintenance/System. On the System Properties dialog box, click the Advanced
tab. Under "Startup and Recovery", click on the Settings tab. Under "System
Failure", remove the check for "Automatically Restart".

OK, I’ve done that so we will see what happens. Still looking to see what
causes the error to begin with.

The next time your system has an error, instead of restarting, you will get
more detailed information as to whats causing the problem...i.e. a program or
a device driver perhaps. Then we should be able to pin-point the problem.

Forgot to include the error code to begin with. This is the code that comes
back. Tried clicking to the help/support site, but this exact problem did not
seem to be there.

Error code 1000000a, parameter1 33504745, parameter2 00000002, parameter3
00000001, parameter4 80703ae5.

Thanks William

I followed your link and submitted this error code. I think I’m “currently
in the processing queueâ€

Error code 1000000a, parameter1 33504745, parameter2 00000002, parameter3
00000001, parameter4 80703ae5.
