XP replacement disks?

Hello all,

Is there a way to obtain replacement disks for XP? I got a
version with my Dell Laptop over a year ago. While I was
returning from an overseas deployment (I am a Navy pilot)
I had a case of computer software CDs stolen from me. Of
course all my driver disks, XP disks, etc were in there. I
now need to reinstall my OS because of a hard drive crash.
I have my manual and my paper certificates, is there any
way to get Microsoft to send me a new set of CDs?

Hi,

If your Windows XP came installed with your Dell Laptop, then you'll have to
contact Dell for the Windows XP cd as the support for Windows comes from
Dell in your case since it's a OEM.

Your best bet would be to contact Dell. I had the same
problem with my HP laptop last year and HP sent me new
CD's for a nominal s&h fee.
