XP Repair, Now No Mouse!!!!

I had an XP Pro PC that was hanging at the XP startup screen.
I performed an XP repair and now all is OK Except there is no mouse.
Even in safe mode, no mouse.
No mouse listed in Device Manager either.
I've tried different mice, both USB and PS2, so the mouse isn't the issue.
The only way I can get a mouse to work is if I use Remote Desktop to connect
to the PC
I installed the Intellipoint drivers and still no luck, so I don't think
it's a driver issue.
I thought the problem was related to some registry corruption, but I've used
a few good Reg Repair tools and still no luck.
Please Help!

Assuming you know the mouse if plugged in correctly, I'd try another repair
install. Something glitched.

Device Manager lists all connected devices. If the mouse works, it must be
something on the motherboard. I would try reinstalling the MoBo software.

I performed another repair, as you suggested and it worked.
The mouse is working again.
