xp repair, booting from cd

from the boot disk of xp I try r for repair and it asks
for a password, I put it in and it says incorrect and
won't repair. are we talking about two different
passwords? even if I take the administrator password off
it still doesn't work..Help please. my system hangs and I
don't have any viruses, my fan works good and gets good
ventilation. Thanks in advance
