XP Reinstallation problem.

I had currently had a new HDD partitioned n formatted.
But when i tried to install win xp the copying of files
stopped with error saying unable to copy or i have a
damaged disk.
But my winxp is brand new!
PLs help...
 
You may have a hardware or configuration issue with the new drive. Is the
CD retail? Is it scratched in any way? Whats the exact error message?
