XP recovery from serious error

Every time I log onto XP, I get a message saying Windows has recovered from
a serious error, even though the computer restarts, closes etc with
apparently no problems. Any ideas?

That error was happening before Service Pack 1. Are you up to date?

Do you have SP2 Installed? go to start/run, and type : WINVER , the Version line will say ...Service Pack 2 if SP2 is installed.
