When I installed my 80 gig western digital hard drive
it registers correctly until I instal windows xp. After
I start installing XP is only recognizes as 30 gigs.
Please help.

"Register correctly"? Define that please.
The BIOS may not be able to support a 80 GB hard drive.
Check that your BIOS is the latest version, and if not, get help on
updating it.

Make sure you've jumpered it correctly. Some hard drives have a
compatibility jumper that limits reported hard drive size to 32 gigs due to
hard drive compatibility reasons.

Also check that your bios supports large hard drives. A bios update should
take care of that issue.
