Hello,
Last night when I tried to shut down my Windows XP I got the message: 'it is now safe to shut down your computer', but the computer would not shut down by itself anymore. Today it got even worse, because now when I try to shutdown my pc it simply reboots. I am unable to shut down my pc at all. I figured out how to see the blue screen error and it said things like: check if there's enough discspace (I have enough discspace) disable or update driver if the driver is mentioned in stop message (it wasn't mentioned), try changing video adapters (not sure what is meant by that, buy a new graphic card??), check for BIOS updates, disable caching/shadowing in BIOS.
The stop message was: 0x0000007e (0xc0000005, ox80528286, 0xf896ca20, 0xf896c720). I tried searching on google for this stop message but found nothing. I've read several articles about this problem, but I don't know what to do anymore, the possible causes can be anything it seems.
This all happened after I just installed Windows XP and other software, so if it is a driver problem I have no idea how to find out which driver is causing this because I've installed many programs in a short time.
Can anyone help me?
Kevin.
