Hi

Do you see any Blue Screen which contains a Stop Code? If so could please
post the Stop Code. If you don't any Blue Screen:

Right click on My Computer, select Properties and then the Advanced tab.
Then click on Settings under 'Startup and Recovery' and disable
'Automatically restart'. Next time you get a BSOD you will be able to read
the Stop Code.

I just searched and found the same issue by Janice. I am going to check the
cables and put the HDD and CD-ROM on separate IDE channels. But I'd still
like some more suggestions. Thanks !!!

It's really frustrating isn't it? I had one system a few years ago doing
this and it turned out to be faulty PSU. Unfortunately not this time.

Have you checked the memory?

Have you got a BSOD with a stop code?

Do you have Norton Antivirus that has out of date subscriptions and sp2?

I had the same problem and XP reported it was a symantec driver causing the
problem so i uninstalled it and have had no problems since.

Hope this helps
