XP Pro Keeps Rebooting

You need to post complete copies of Error Reports.

Please post a copy of the Stop Error Report.

Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should help by
allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Right click on
the My Computer icon on the Desktop and select Properties, Advanced,
Start-Up and Recovery, System Failure and uncheck box before
Automatically Restart.

Do not re-enable automatic restart on system failure even after you have
solved the problem as it's better disabled. Check for variants of the
Stop Error message.

An alternative is to keep pressing the F8 key during Start-Up and select
option - Disable automatic restart on system failure.

If you are using a wireless keyboard and the F8 key does not work
substitute a wired keyboard and mouse for this exercise only.

Hope this helps.

I have a Notebook 2200t laptop (made by Clevo). 1.3Mhz CPU w/384MB Ram.

It has XP Pro SP2 Valid Copy. XP was freshly loaded not long ago on a new
HD. It was working fine up until very recently.

Now when I try to boot it up it gets to the XP slash screen (the progress
line is runnning) and then it goes and reboots. It stays stuck in this
rebooting pattern until I shut the laptop down.

I was able to access the Recovery Console and rebuild the boot.ini using
bootcfg /rebuild. That did NOT correct the rebooting issue.

I finally have been able to access Safe Mode w/Networking. This is the
state the laptop is in RIGHT now.

What do I do under Safe Mode to correct this rebooting problem ??

TIA!

Thank you Gerry. I was able to resolve this issue.

I disabled the Auto Restart. Cleaned out the Startup Folder.

BTW, this rebooting issue happened AFTER I "tried" to upgrade to IE7. BIG
MISTAKE !! I tried to Uninstall it and havoc was created on my PC!!

Thanks MicroSoft for introducing a product WAY before it was ready!! Why do
you INSIST on doing this practice ?? Look what happened when you got greedy
and shove VISTA on the market BEFORE it was ready!!

VERY VERY BAD Public Relations moves Microsoft !!!!!!!!
