XP Professional + 2000 server

We have a computer classroom equipped with 16 PCs: 15 PCs of Windows XP professional and one PC under Windows’2000 Server control. Some shared folders are placed on the last PC
Then we start working (testing students) via LAN, the same program is running on each PC. These programs delete/create and read/write shared files on PC under Windows’2000 Server. If we use a few PCs testing seems OK. If we use more than 10 PCs (our estimation) we have great problems with the testing program running: very-very long start, the program often crushes. No system warning is displayed
We have idea the problem is “Inbound Connections Limit in Windows XPâ€. However, this describes a case when more than 10 Windows XP Prof PCs connected to another XP Prof PC. In our case it seems one (or each?) XP Prof imagines himself as a server reached the maximum number of inbound connections. Windows’2000 Server has enough licenses to support the class
Please, help

I think you've correctly diagnosed that your problem has to do with
licenses. Look on the server to see if you have the licensing service
running. Many people have reported that this service does not work
correctly and it is better *not* to have Win2k server manage the
licenses but to do it yourself. If this is indeed your case, stop the
licensing service on the server and try again.
