If I install XP Pro as an upgrade to XP Home, do I lose
anything as I install Pro, or do all files and folder, e-
mails etc remain untouched.

Also - are e-mails stored in a folder on the hardisk
anywhere? If I thought I was going to lose them, I'd copy
them to CD.

Alistair

You should back your data up just in case. Otherwise the upgrade should be
transparent - ie all the programs, data, etc should remain unaffected.

By definition, an upgrade, as opposed to a clean installation,
keeps all your data, programs etc. But note that there are no
guarantees. It's always possible that something can go wrong, so
it's certainly prudent to be sure you have a backup of anything
you can't afford to lose before beginning.

Yes. But we can't tell you where unless you tell us what E-mail
program you use.
