XP Pro won't let me log on

i can't log on to my computer. after i enter my password,
a few minutes later i get this message "A problem is
preventing Windows from accurately checking the license
for this computer. Error code: 0x800405aa" i searched the
MS support website and this error is not in their
database. any help will be greatly appreciated.
