logon problem

When i try to logon to my computer i get the following message:
A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the license for
this computer error code 0x800700C1.
I dont to reinstall the operating system as ive important files on it i dont
want to lose. I would appreciate help for this problem.
Windows xp pro service pk 2 is the operaing system.

Hi,
This sisue can be caused by:
1- Installed new software that changed the security provider
2- An Update and you can try to re-run the activation key by doing this:

Click Start >>Run, and type in:
regsvr32 regwizc.dll Click/press OK

-Then type in:
regsvr32 licdll.dll Click/press OK

Reboot your machine.
Try running the validation tool
http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/default.aspx?displaylang=en


If you can't get into normal mode then try Safe Mode and perform a System
Restore by doing this: Click Start >> All Programs >> Accessories >> System
Tool>> System Tool >> System Restore.
3- An infection that playing you up and you need to scan or run a thorough
scan for both malware and Viruses.
