licence error 0x800700C1

I recieve a 0x800700C1 on xp home version 2002 SP2 after an upgrade to Notron
antivirus. Error message says comething like "A problem is preventing
Windows from accurately checking the license for this computer." Thought
this might be related to Reset the default security provider in Windows XP
but HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Cryptography\Providers does not
show in the registry. Any suggestions?

Try this...

Click Start-> Run, and copy & paste the below lines one-at-a-time into the Run box

regsvr32.exe regwizc.dll and press OK

regsvr32.exe licdll.dll and press OK.

I should have said update not upgrade to Norton antivirus.
