XP Pro will not go past welcome screen

My computer has XP PRO on it, without SP1. It will not go
passed the welcome screen. I tried putting an XP cd in
the CD-ROM. When I do that I do get an option to boot
from cd. I tried booting from cd and 1st it says
checking hardware config...then it goes to a blue screen
that says..windows setup..at the bottom of the blue
screen it shows what is being installed...I do not get
the option to repair xp or anything else it just jumps
directly to the blue screen...after waiting 7 hours for
the blue screen to go away I get a STOP 0x0000007b
(0xfb01063c,0xc0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000) error
message and says that setup cannot go any further. I have
exhausted all of the options on the additional boot
options menu(safe mode, last known good config,etc.)..Is
there any hope...and if i needed to could i hook that
hard drive up to a different puter as a slave and work on
it from there?..any suggestions would be awesome.

Sounds like your installation didn't complete.

Go to http://www.aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm and find the 7B STOP
article. You'll note that some of the referenced KB articles involve
setup issues that sound similar to yours.

Neither of the 2 suggestions did not help at all...the
last know good config has already been tried and the web
page for the stop 7b errors does not have my problem
listed
