just did an upgrade from Home to Pro I don't want to be
prompted about what I want to run each time I boot up. I
thought I upgraded to Professional from Home but I seem
to
have both. Also none of my Home settings nor software
moved and/or works under Professional. Any idea's?
Thanks!

John;
You apparently did not choose the upgrade option.
If you installed Windows XP Pro on the same partition as Windows XP
Home, you have both OSs together which is potentially bad.
If that is the case, back-up important data and perform a Clean
Installation:

Greetings --

You apparently launched the WinXP Pro setup from within WinXP Home
and selected a "New" installation. What you're seeing is the natural
result of that choice. Had you selected the recommended "Upgrade
(Recommended)" option, you'd have accomplished your goal of replacing
WinXP Home, with all of your applications in place and functioning.
As you haven't gotten too far, the quickest, cleanest solution would
be to start over and select "Upgrade (Recommended.)

You can then deleted the extra folder into which the first,
undesired WinXP Pro installation was placed and edit C:\Boot.ini to
remove the reference to the second installation.
