Windows 2000 Pro to Windows XP Pro Upgrade?

M

MildlyMystified

Three years later, I have finally worked up the nerve to upgrade my
laptop's operating system from the Windows 2000 Professional OEM
version to Windows XP Pro. Before undertaking this project, I want to
know if anyone else has done this and whether or not I need to procure
the Windows XP Pro Upgrade (Retail) or Windows XP Pro Upgrade
(Academic) version. Also, when I research available Windows XP Pro
Upgrade software, can I go directly from Windows 2000 Professional to
Windows XP Pro SP2 Upgrade, or must I pass through SP1 and buy an SP2
upgrade package as well?

So many questions...

You can get the Windows XP Pro Upgrade if you can find with with SP2 get it
it'll save time downloading sp2 upgrades later. As far as Upgrade and
Academic. You only qualify for the academic if you are a student or teacher.
If you aren't then you aren't supposed to use the academic price break
version.
Upgrading from Windows 2000 to XP is easy.
