I just did an upgrade from Home to Pro I don't want to be
prompted about what I want to run each time I boot up. I
thought I upgraded to Professional from Home but I seem to
have both. Also none of my Home settings nor software
moved and/or works under Professional. Any idea's? Thanks!

You probably did not upgrade but rather installed a new copy of Pro as
a dual boot configuration with your copy of home. Post the contents
of your boot.ini file here so we can take a look at what it says.....

All of the boot.ini files I can find are back ups. I can
go to the cmd prompt msconfig and see the two partitions
and the choices of pro or home but I can't copy and paste
it here. I don't understand why I can't find it to copy
anywere else even seaching hidden and system files. (?)
Thanks!

You did not do an upgrade but a fresh installation. Either you booted
the CD and did it from that or you ran it from the Home system and
changed Upgrade to New Install. You have probably done it into the same
folder the Home was in, effectively over-writing it without upgrading.
So you will have to reinstall all programs (to the same places as
before) so as to reinstate their registry settings that have been lost

Then go to Control Panel - System - Advanced, click Settings in Startup
and Error, click Edit to load boot.ini in Notepad, and delete the line
in [Operating systems] that refers to the old Home. Also the matching
one in [boot loader] if there is more than one 'multi(0). . ' line there

Greetings --

You apparently launched the WinXP Pro setup from within WinXP Home
and
selected a "New" installation. What you're seeing is the natural
result of that choice. Had you selected the recommended "Upgrade
(Recommended)" option, you'd have accomplished your goal of replacing
WinXP Home, with all of your applications in place and functioning.
As you haven't gotten too far, the quickest, cleanest solution would
be to start over and select "Upgrade (Recommended.)

You can then deleted the extra folder into which the first,
undesired WinXP Pro installation was placed and edit C:\Boot.ini to
remove the reference to the second installation.
