I just bought a new computer which came with XP home.
Ihave installed XP pro and no longer want it my on home
computer. Is there anyway to easily remove it from my
computer?

If you did an upgrade install then you can uninstall xp pro from add/remove
programs. If you did a clean install you will have to format and reinstall
xp home or use the recovery disk supplied with the computer if there is one.

I have tried the recovery cd is there something that I am
suppose to do when I go to run the recovery cd?

Either put the cd in when windows is running and it should auto-start or
boot the computer with the cd in the tray and it should auto-start. It will
then walk you thru a format and reinstall of xp. You will lose all data on
the computer so backup anything important.
