XP pro unable to read win98 cdr's

I've purchased a new PC (P4, 2.4GHz, 512MB) running XP
pro with an LG burner (model GCE-8520B, 52x24x52) using
Nero software. Unfortunately I am unable to read any
data CD's that I created on my old system (P3, 600MHz,
128MB). The CD's were burned using Adaptec software (HP
model 9310i, 10x4x32). The CD's have been "closed" and
can be read by CD-ROM drives on Windows 95 machines. My
new system claims that the disk structure is "corrupt and
unreadable."

Any help would be appreciated... I've got a ton of data
that I would like to access.

Hi,

Did you use Roxio Direct CD to burn your CD from the
previous computer? If so, you may have to install it on
the new computer to be able to read the CD's made on the
previous computer. If you are going to install Roxio
on the new computer, go to Roxio website and get the
update files to bring the version up past 5.0. That should
work. Good luck.
