XP pro-stop error

I have built a new system and am trying to install XP pro-sp2. The POST goes
fine (drives are detected) Windows setup runs and then I get a stop error.
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage
to your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error
restart your computer. If this screen appears again follow these steps:
Check for viruses. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive
controllers.Check your hard drive to make sure its properly configured and
terminated. Run chkdsk /F to check for harddrive corruption and then restart
your computer.
Technical info: ***STOP 0X0000007B (0XF7CAE524,
0XC0000034,0X00000000,0X00000000)

I am using an AMD64 3500+ cpu
Soltek mobo K8T800 pro
corsair val select ram (2x 512)
Seagate 160 gb IDE HDD

The version of XP I have is OEM. All components are brand new out of the
box. Any ideas as to my problem??

thanks!

I checked that page first.
I have eliminated the possibility of a virus since all parts are brand new.
I tried using the floppy that came with the system board in case system was
missing drivers. Didn't help.
I've heard about a bug with XP install discs. Has anyone had issues similar
to this when doing a clean install?

thanks!!

He means Microsoft OEM XP CD. These are used by system builders other than
the large OEMs. Do you really think ma and pa PC assemblers bother to
manufacture their own CDs.

No, not necessarily. Although some OEM versions are like that,
there are also generic OEM versions that can be installed on any
machine.
