XP Pro Setup HELP!

I tried formatting my hard drive with the XP CD.
It installed XP on top of Windows 2000, without deleting the old OS.
Upon installation, I tried to delete all partitions, but it still didn't work.

I have formatted and upgrade to XP by the Cd before and it usually works fine, but this time it kept on installing XP with 2000.

So now I have 2 OS running and I have no idea how to format my hard drive.

Can anyone please help me? I need step by step instructions with DOS (if that's the best way to format)

If the windows cd will not format the hard drive there are programs you can buy that will do it for you, one is Wipe Drive it will clean you hard drive off totally.
