XP Pro printer sharing problems

Michael

I have a HP PSC 950, 4 in 1 printer that I haved shared
of my windows xp pro computer, I have a small network of
5 computers. 2 others are windows XP pro (wireless
802.11g) and one laptop with windows 98 and one windows
2003 server. running as a workstation not as a server.
All are connected through my linksys 54g router. When I
first install the printer and share it, then go to each
computer and install the printer as a network printer,
\\MichaelsXP\hppsc950 it works great. As soon as shut my
machines down for the night the next day I go to print
from one of the other computers and I do not have access
to the printer. I always have to delete the printer from
the computer I am trying to print from and reinstall and
it will work fine again. This is such a hassel, CAN
ANYONE HELP ME, Please What do I have set up wrong on the
Windows XP computer that would cause this problem...

We are experiencing what might be a related problem, although I'm not sure
what you mean by "do not have access"
machines down for the night the next day I go to print
from one of the other computers and I do not have access
to the printer. I always have to delete the printer<<

The problem we are experiencing is that a printer connected to the serial
port on an XP PC prints blank from the 2003 server after a reboot, until a
test page is printed on the XP PC. Printing the test page from the 2003 PC
doesn't work, and it is only a problem if the XP PC is rebooted.
