XP Pro loses printers

Anyone know of a problem with xp pro losing printers. I
go into the print folder, there are no printers listed.
I reboot, the printers appear, but than shortly
thereafter disappear again..??? Any suggestions??

Sounds like your print spooler is stopping. Next time they disappear, from
the command prompt, type

net start spooler

(and hit enter). Do they now reappear?

Only one local by USB--HP 4100 Also have two networked

a Canon ImageRunner 5000 and Canon Color Laser 700.
