XP PRO Keyboard and Mouse Frozen at Logon screen

It had been working propertly so far but now when I turn on the computer it
loads windows to the logon screen where I have to put my password to logon
but the keyboard and mouse do not work. I tried restarting, going into safe
mode, boot from CD, even changed keyboard and mouse for another ones and
nothing worked, what can I do? Thank you in advance.
 
no messages, while loading it seems to be working but when it gets to the
logon screen it just doesnt do anything at all. I tried using another
keyboard and mouse and didnt work either. The screen blinks where you put the
password and the arrow for the mouse shows but neither work.
