XP Pro install clean up from XP Home

I performed a new XP pro install over a home version. Accordingly, when I
tried to access a user folder from the previous install, explorer complained
"Folder is not accessible. Access is denied." Per Microsoft help given by
Article ID : 810881, I turned off Simple File Sharing, and then took
ownership of the folder. This allowed access to clean up (delete) all
files/directories under the user directory from the previous install EXCEPT
many zero-length files in directories under ...(username)\Local
Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5 even after a clean CHKDSK.
Please advise to fully delete all of the user folder from the previous
install.

John,

Have you gone to: right-click My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Settings
(under 'User Profiles' heading). If you see your old Profile (user name),
click once to highlight the profile and select 'Delete'.

Drew,
A separate old Profile did not appear although the user name is same as new
install user.

Added note: When the new administrative user (same as user from old install)
was added at new install, Windows simply created new folders named
"(username).(computername)".
