XP Pro/IE printing problem

Hi folks,

The user has XP Pro 2002 SP1. First noticed a problem
when IE started crashing when trying to print any web
page. Only error message was the "IE has encounted an
error and needs to close."

Looked in Printers and Faxes and there are not printers
listed. Tried to add a printer but can't, the wizard
does not open, the cursor doesn't change. However, I can
go to Word and see 4 network printers and print fine from
Word. Must confess I've never seen this one before.

Unistalled/reinstalled IE from Windows Components, no
effect. Ran McAfee, no viruses found. I'm hoping I
don't have to reimage or reload the darn thing.

Try repairing IE.

Can't print while online:
C\:Windows\System32\Spool\Printers and delete the contents.

Also:
Go to IE/Tools/Internet Options/Advanced/Uncheck Enable third-party browser
extentions. Reboot
