XP Pro how to reinstall

Here is the computer story and my question.
I have a long story so will make this short. Son bought
this XP for me last June SO that I could help him with
his business (I had a 98)... Back surgery Sept..... long
recovery.....
Slowly starting in January I was going to learn how to
use this XP (son was in South America) I was doing fair
when in May an error message came up Active X may cause
several things including the computer to crash. I called
Dell and a person called YOUSSeFF with a very hard to
understand accent. What he did I do not know I was on
the phone for 3 hours and he did not send me a survey to
rate his work. One thing I do know he never asked was I
using a wireless key board. It was the 20th of May when
some Dell (I have the name wrote down) person with an
accent asked did I have a wireless mouse and keyboard.
She suggested I get a keyboard and mouse and connect to
the ports. The next day in my brace from neck down I
took off to Circuit City, Best Buy, Office Depot and ??
(I am in the country and have limited driving ability) I
came home with lots of info a keyboard and a mouse. The
one that Dell sent had gone to Newfoundland last year. I
made the mouse and keyboard connection the first try.
Then called AOL for help. All seems to be going OK with
AOL.

By the way son bought the Dell service contract and they
told me that unless the computer was broken they would
not come out and fix it. I told Dell that to me it was
broke thanks to a Dell person called Yusseff.

I now want to install the XP there are 3 CDs. Do you have
any suggestions as to what I need to do. Where to start.
I fear greatly when I think about calling DELL.

I still have the "INVALID ACTIVEX/COM entries 15
Problems" in the windows registry.

I do hope I have this on the right forum if not I am sure
one of you will be nice enough to tell this senior
citizen what forum I should post this on.

PLEASE NO Dell bashing it was an employee. I happen to
like DELL.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLIES.

If you do not email Dell to tell them that you DID NOT like their service,
they will think that you did! If enough people complain, maybe they will
bring the tech support home.
