XP pro clean install

Hello all,
upon installing Windows XP pro on a Compaq/Pentium II
333, I FDISK, formatting hard drive, booted from CD,
everything worked up until GUI screen ask me question
that required my imput, but now my mouse and keyboard
stop responding. So I'm stuck at this point. Any
suggestions?
keyboard and mouse work again (in the blue screen DOS)
if I reboot and reinstall thank you

USB or PS/2 keyboard/mouse?

I suggest PS/2 if you are using USB and having trouble.
(Plus a 333MHz? I hope you have 256+MB RAM, because if XP does run, it's
going to run REALLY badly.)
