XP Install

hello all,
clean installing XP pro on Compaq 5050/Pentium II 333/192
RAM. Everything works untill XP screen asks me for
language settings, and I realize once out of DOS the
keyboard stops working along with mouse, how do I get
keyboard working or just make choices after prompted do
so. Any suggestions thank you
