XP Pro and SP2

With all the complaints I've seen about SP2 there is no doubt a problem with
it. I wonder how many are Athlon related as opposed to Intel. I myself have
an AMD.
My particular problem with SP2 is that IE6 started crashing and generating
error reports at a few web sites. Sometimes after a couple of crashes and
error reports the site will work on the third try. Other times I have to use
Mozilla to view the site.
I have uninstalled the SP2 upgrade and back to SP1 I have no problems with
IE6 at all nor anything else. I reinstall SP2 and got the exact same problem
return. It seems to be the same sites and starts all over again each day.
Another minor problem is that Windws Security Center doesn't recognize my
firewall which is Sygate Personal Firewall. It keeps telling me I have no
firewall. I wonder if it is related to the first problem.

My software and hardware is compatable with SP1, why not SP2?
Well I had to unload SP2 again. Just get too pissed off when I'm several
layers deep in a site and IE6 crashes and brings everything down. Having to
re-enter the site and go back trrough all the sub menus again is too much
waist of time. So I'm back to good old reliable SP1.

Check with Sygate about the firewall.
Has Sygate made the necessary updates to their software for your
version?
If not, that is why, Sygate need to make the changes, not Microsoft.

As for the others, is your hardware and software compatible with SP-2?
Is the computer ready for SP-2?

Rodney;
SP-2 is a major change from SP-1, that is why it is recommended to
verify compatibility.
There is also 2 two year difference in technology from SP-1 to SP-2.
Some compatibility issues are old badly written code incompatible with
a more secure OS.
Most is not a compatibility issue at all, it is reconfigurations
needed, updated drivers obtained or patches from specific
manufacturers.

Most problems are prevented by preparing in advance as suggestion in
the links on my last post.

The problem is Microsoft's own IE6 and not anything else. I say it is their
problem.
