Does XP Pro. SP3 have newer ntdll.dll and explorer.exe?

Hello.

I am having problems with my XP SP2's explorer.exe v6.0.2900.3156
crashing with ntdll.dll v5.1.2600.2180. I am wondering if SP3 have newer
versions of explorer.exe and ntdll.dll.

Thank you in advance. :)

Thank you. I think I will jump to SP3 if I can't resolve my crash issues
in SP2. I am almost out of ideas. :(

They are newer:
explorer.exe 6.00.2900.5512
ntdll.dll 5.1.2600.5512

It is highly unlikely that installing SP3 will solve your problems. In
fact, the *worst* time to install a service pack is when you are
experiencing problems. That's much more likely to exacerbate the
problems than to solve them.

I am planning to make a backup before I even attempt this just in case.
Plus, this is a SP so a big upgrade. If it fails, restore my backup.
This is for the issue I posted in my "XP Pro. SP2's explorer.exe
crashing a lot and randomly." newsgroup thread.

Good. You should do this before any major step, whether or not you
hope to solve problems with it.

Still, I'm not at all optimistic that this will solve your problems.

But good luck. I hope I'm wrong, and it solves them.

Do you have any other ideas then? :)

As you predicted, it didn't fix the problem. I guess we know the files
aren't the problems (not corrupted). Man, this is a difficult one to
diagnose. :(
