sfc.exe command -- only show problems, not replace.

Ant

Hi.

Is there a way to have sfc.exe only show problems and not
repair/fix/replace?

Thank you in advance. :)

Yuck! Looks like they don't support very much in XP, doesn't it?

This is another instance of where Win98SE had WinXP beat, because at least
in Win98SE, you *could* get *a usable report log*, AND elect whether or not
to replace some of those DLL files, as I recall!

Wow, how dumb. Is there a free third party that is similiar to sfc.exe
that can do report only?

Not that I'm aware of. But maybe some else is, but I doubt it really
exists, since this is primarily a built in Microsoft function (i.e. relating
to SFC), and 2) how many people really want to know such "seemingly arcane"
stuff? (answer: just a few of us)

And before anyone responds again by mentioning that software out there that
can check the drivers on your system, that's NOT what we're talking about
here.
We're talking about monitoring the system DLL files, etc. And NOT just (or
even mainly) driver updates, etc.
