I have been attempting to install my Palm Desktop to work with my handheld. In my previous computer it worked fine. Now that I have a different one, I cannot get my HotSync working properly.

I go through all the steps that Palm suggests, but to no avail. I have a couple of questions for you guys in the know out there.

1. In the set up COM 1 is a choice, but I use USB. Should that not be the coice I use?
2. I have four USB ports and they all work fine with other devices. Is it just the Palm that is the problem?

If you can help, I would appreciate it.

My M130 cradle/unit work just fine with XP. Without knowing what
version of Palm unit you have, it's impossible to help much. I do
think you are posting in the wrong place, since millions of us use our
PDAs just fine with no problems in the hotsync. This isn't an XP
issue so much as a problem you are having with the Palm Software. A
Palm group would be a better place to sort this out.

Hi Jeff,

I just bought XP and have the exact same problem. Have you found a solution?

Thanks,

Dirndl

Like everyone else I'm pretty desperate to be able to link my palm pilot to
my Microsoft programs (particularly MSN Calendar)!! Does anyone have a clue
where to get help? I've called Microsoft, Palm One, etc.... and expended
hours on this!! I know it will end up being a simple solution... would be
helpful if someone could post directions from start to finish!! Anyway...
this may not be the correct forum... but I'm desperate and not sure who to
ask for help!!
Thanks!
Carol
