XP Pro and DVD writer iinquiry

HI,

I have XP Pro2.

I have a DVD-CDRW burner and I want to write data files to the DVD.

It shows in Dev Mgr as a Pioneer DVD player which is correct but in the
left side Explorer list it says CD. In fact it shows it twice. Once at
Drive I and again as M. One asks for a blank disk, the other doesn't.

When I put the blank DVD I do not get any panel asking me what to do either.

The unit is an IDE secondary slave.

This is obviously wrong. I have tried to write to it but it doesn't
allow me to.

How can I correct this please?
