XP Picture problem

I have a problem trying to view pictures that I have
saved from the internet. After I have them saved in "My
Pictures" folder or Desktop, I open them but always get
errors and cannot view the pictures. If it's a bitmap
file, Paint usually says that it can't open the file. And
if it's Jpeg, or Art files, then there is this program
called "Jasc Paintshop" that opens up, but then says it
can't open the file. Or they say the file type is not
recognized. Anyone know what the problem could be? I've
never had a problem like this on my old computer with
Windows 98, so I'm lost.

You need to delete your internet temporary files, etc.
