Last night I did a 100% fresh install of windows XP on my desktop, and
everything was working fine. I got the wireless up and running, got a game
installed, set up outlook, etc. Then when I woke up this morning and turned
it on, it went through the normal RAM count, then went to a black screen with
a white line in the upper left hand corner. It just sits there. The system
does respond to CTRL/ALT/DEL, and when I go into CMOS, I tried booting from
the CDROM, same result, I restored to safety settings, same result.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance, you guys rock.

Ever since I installed a new video card (nVidia 6800) it does that to me
too, but eventually it boots. I have to wait
and watch that flashing line for at least a minute before it continues.

I waited for over 15 minutes, did not help. I do have an nVidia, although my
motherboard has a basic one built in. I guess I can try removing the vid card
and booting with that. I can't try again till tue or wed.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

You said ,"and when I go into CMOS", what when you go into cmos.....?
