xp not seeing my devices

I had a problem accessing the internet ercently. I brought
my pc to a shop and they said they had to reinstall xp.
After that was done i reloaded some of my applications.
After a while i noticed i kept getting an invalid driver
message which was sent to microsoft. After that i tried
turning of the pc and it would just reboot! Last night i
removed a few applications, creative labs and roxio in
particular. Now i try to re install them but my cdr/rw and
dvd are not seen by xp and i cannot update the drivers.

What can i do to fix this. i can't use these devices nor
can i shut the machine down! I see directcd is having a
problem in the sys tray also.

Take the machine back to the people who fixed it. I'm sure they want to
stand behind their work.
