XP networking problem after uninstalling F-Secure Internet Security 2006 suite

Hello all

Have a problem - after uninstalling F-Secure Internet Security 2006 I
lost connection to the Internet. The ADSL connection comes up and
everything seems ok but I cannot access the web (modem, cable etc are
fine - checked with another computer). I can ping arbitrary IP but the
same, given an address won't work. Modem shows no activity when ping
is supposed to send query to DNS. Web browsing is also impossible, no
matter if I use address or IP (modem shows no activity when trying
this). And it makes no difference whether XP's firewall is swiched on
or off.
What could be wrong, what to look for? Any help is very appreciated
and thanks in advance.

the netsh command in SP2 can rebuild the Winsock catalog. Open the command
prompt and type:
netsh winsock reset catalog
then press ENTER.

go into your internet protocol (tcp/ip) properties box and make sure that
your ip address and dns server are set to automatic. if this set and still
having the same problem than reset your modem. I hope this helps
