Robert

hi, I have two computers at home. One provides a
broadband link to the internet. I can establish a network
between the two BUT everytime I start the computers the
link is lost and I have to run the wizard again. Both
computers run XP and I am using a ethernet connection.

Can anyone help me establish the connection permanently
between the two? thanks

Robert

Me too. What a pain. XP Pro Desktop P4 512MBRAM to XP Pro Laptop p4 512MB RAM. Both connected via small 10MB hub quite happily. Now all of a sudden the desktop has lost its LAN icon under network settings, and I can't get it back as the wizard keeps crashing with an svchost error. HAve sent the fault across the internet and get taken to a page that tells me MS are aware and investigating. Is this something to do with enabling the firewall on the LAN connection

This morning I booted without the hub powered and have the icon back [cable disconnected icon of course.] Booted the hub and touch wood the LAN icon is still there. Will try networking with laptop later and check back Robert. Please post here if you find anything as I need a tip on this one

Good luck

Adrian
